A total of 376,000 low-cost film tickets will be provided by local cinemas to migrant workers who choose to stay in Wuxi for the upcoming Spring Festival, local media reported on Feb 3.
In response to the Wuxi municipal government's call to reduce the flow of people during the holiday period, the number of migrant workers staying in Wuxi is expected to increase significantly this year compared with previous years.
Migrant workers staying in Wuxi can watch the Spring Festival blockbusters with low-cost film tickets every 10 am and 10 pm from Feb 8 to 27, for a total of 1,880 screenings.
In addition, several cinemas have introduced favorable events for audiences. Locals can watch films seven times with a 199-yuan ($30.8) Spring Festival ticket card at Wuxi Wanda cinemas. The Livat Center Branch of Wuxi Jinyi cinema has also provided free movie tickets to Wuxi's front-line COVID-19 working team until Feb 17.
Viewers will be asked to have their body temperature taken and show their health QR code before entering cinemas. They will also be required to wear masks during the entire screening, according to a guideline co-released with the statement.
