The warmer weather in recent days has bolstered tourism in Wuxi, especially its gardens that have attracted visitors with their beautiful scenes of flower blossoms.
Wuxi Plum Garden is a popular place to admire plum blossoms in Wuxi. According to its management department, the garden receives about 50,000 visitors each day even after the Spring Festival holiday.
The garden, which boasts over 400 species of plum trees on the mountain and more than 10,000 plum trees throughout it, had also seen a growing number of young visitors during the holiday, according to officials.
As part of its regular COVID-19 epidemic control measures, many workers and volunteers at the entrance offer assistance to visitors who must show their health QR code and have their ticket reservations checked before entering.
Many locals in Wuxi are willing to go outside for blooming flowers every February to April, especially when the cherry flowers are in full blossom, according to workers from the Yuantouzhu scenic area.
As cherry blossoms are greatly affected by temperature, the first batch of early cherry blossoms has already arrived.
The city is also expected to attract large numbers of tourists from March to May.
The rising temperature has brought people out of their homes after a long winter to the countryside, fields, temples, and gardens, hoping that the arrival of spring will bring good luck for the rest of the year.
