Wuxi's four tourist attractions monitored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism received more than 322,600 visitors during the three-day Tomb Sweeping Day holiday that ended on April 5, according to local authorities.
Wuxi was one of the top 10 most popular tourist destinations in the country, according to a report by online travel agency Lvmama.com. The report also noted that the Yuantouzhu scenic area and Lingshan scenic area were listed in the top 10 tourist attractions in China.
Yuantouzhu scenic area, or Turtle Head Isle, is considered the top destination in China to admire cherry blossoms. Every March and April, over 30,000 cherry trees of 100 varieties come into bloom there, with the delicate white and pink cherry blossoms cascading down the hills like waterfalls.
During the holiday, a number of visitors spoke highly of the scenic spot's breathtaking cherry blossoms both during the day and at night.

In addition, many parks organized activities such as kite-flying and making green rice balls, a popular Tomb Sweeping Day delicacy, for visitors during the holiday.
Tomb Sweeping Day, also known as Qingming Festival, is a traditional Chinese holiday when people pay tribute to deceased family members, worship their ancestors, and go on spring outings.
