A total of 329 Wuxi enterprises participating in the 129th session of the China Import and Export Fair have been promoting themselves through livestreams.
The event, better known as the Canton Fair, is considered a key indicator of wellbeing for trade and commerce in China. This is the third time the fair has been hosted online due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A number of Wuxi enterprises are promoting themselves online by making full use of technologies such as the internet, big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence in search of opportunities in the foreign and domestic markets.
Li Fang of Wuxi Jinmao Foreign Trade Co said the company has built a 225-square-meter multimedia livestream center with HD devices for the online fair.
Li noted that this year, the company will host one livestream per day from April 15 to 24. Each event will run for 1.5 to 2 hours and introduce details of the company and its products, as well as communicate with visitors in real time.
In addition, Yadea Technology Group Co, a major manufacturer of two-wheeled electric vehicles, has been using VR technology to share more information about their products with customers.
The China Import and Export Fair was first held in 1957. It is the country's largest and oldest comprehensive trade fair with the largest number of overseas buyers and the widest variety of products, according to information from the Ministry of Commerce.
