A total of 44 projects worth 43.56 billion yuan ($6.7 billion) were signed to start in Yixing, a prefecture-level city of Wuxi, during an investment promotion event in Shanghai on April 18.
Among the deals, six came from foreign capital and 38 from domestic capital, covering a wide range of sectors, such as integrated circuits, biomedicine, new energy, high-end equipment manufacturing, as well as modern tourism.
Becton, Dickinson and Co, the US medical technology company specializing in flow cytometry that is also known as BD, announced that they will build the fourth largest plant in Yixing after two years of assessments.

In addition, Yixing will bolster the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region in innovation, transportation, and tourism, with key transportation projects like the Yixing-Mashan express highway, Yixing's general airport, as well as Wuxi-Yixing metro line S2, according to officials.
