The local government of Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province hosted a roundtable forum with executives from multinational corporations on April 29, aiming to promote communications and cooperation with each other.
Directors from a number of key multinational corporations and organizations, such as Roland Berger, the Federation of HK Jiangsu Community Organizations, Mizuho Bank, Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International, as well as the China-Britain Business Council, shared their ideas on further cooperation with Wuxi in both online and offline venues.
They also discussed their plans to develop industries like biomedicine, integrated circuits, and smart manufacturing in Wuxi, promote innovation, as well as train talents to support the city's economic development.
Tang Ying-yen, chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong Jiangsu Community Organizations, said that more exchanges and cooperation could be carried out between Wuxi and Hong Kong in finance, modern services, as well as in developing R&D institutions.
Ma Weifeng, director for China outbound at the China-Britain Business Council, said that in recent years, with the rapid development in cooperation between Wuxi and the UK in the economic and trade fields, the UK has become the city's main trading partner, investment destination, as well as actual source of investment in Europe, especially in new energy and medical treatment.
Ma added that they are glad to work as a platform to promote Wuxi to more Britain-based enterprises on the city's favorable investment policies and strong business environment.
Wuxi Mayor Du Xiaogang noted that the local government will continue to work to improve its business environment and provide a package of policies and measures to strengthen, protect, as well as stimulate the vitality of market entities and foster high-quality development.
