Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province opened a cutting-edge new venue for the 2021 World Taekwondo Championships, local media reported on May 28.
The new venue is located at Hall B6 of the Wuxi Taihu International Expo Center in Wuxi Economic Development Zone.
The 3,000-square-meter venue is covered with top dedicated floor for sports venues. It includes the only multicolored stand in China, as well as concert-level audio-visual equipment.
Wuxi has become a world leader in promoting the development of taekwondo. The city has hosted more than 20 taekwondo events since November 2017, attracting about 100,000 spectators in total.
In July 2018, the World Taekwondo Wuxi Centre was established in order to support education and development programs for taekwondo. Wuxi was also chosen as the host of the 2021 World Taekwondo Championships and the World Para Taekwondo Championships.
