The 17th China (Wuxi) International Design Expo will be held in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province from Sept 11 to 13, according to an official announcement released on May 28.
Sponsored by the National Intellectual Property Administration, the Ministry of Science and Technology, as well as the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, the event is themed around smart design. It will welcome participants in both online and offline venues.
This year's event will include an opening ceremony, an exhibition, as well as two award ceremonies for the 22nd China Design Patent Award and the 10th Taihu Award Design Competition. It will also include two forums themed around the protection of designs and intellectual property, as well as innovative design.
The 18,000-square-meter exhibition at the Wuxi Taihu International Expo Center will be made up of three parts, displaying designs from China Patent Award-winning enterprises, shortlisted works from the 10th Taihu Award Design Competition, as well as innovative designs in various industries.
An online platform will also open to display works, as well as to host livestreams and matchmaking events, allowing more people to enjoy the latest technological design trends and products easily. The online platform is also expected to help raise the public's awareness of intellectual property protection and to promote the event widely.
Established in 2000, the China (Wuxi) International Design Expo is the only international design event sponsored by the National Intellectual Property Administration.
