An exhibition of cultural relics and historical photos showcasing the development of Jiangsu province over the past century opened at the Nanjing International Expo Center on July 1 in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China this year.
The exhibition is made up of a 12,000-square-meter indoor exhibition and 6,000-sqm outdoor exhibition, featuring over 3,990 photos, other pictures, historical items, maps, models, videos, and artworks.
These precious historical and cultural items on display reproduce four periods of Chinese history – the founding of the CPC and the new-democratic revolution, the socialist revolution and construction, opening up and socialist modernization, and the building of a moderately prosperous society.
Models of China's Fendouzhe and Jiaolong submersibles are displayed at the entrance of the exhibition. Both deep-sea manned submersibles were developed by the China Ship Scientific Research Center, China's largest ship and ocean engineering research institute based in Wuxi.
The model of a cement ship made by Wuxi Chunlei Shipyard, the first commune and brigade-run enterprise after the founding of New China in 1949, is displayed as well.
The exhibition will run for two months and end on Aug 31. People can experience it online starting July 5.
