Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province has become one of China's top cities in terms of smart city development, according to a report released at the 2021 New-type Smart City Construction and Development Summit on July 15.
The report was compiled by CCID Consulting, a company affiliated with a think tank under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, based on an evaluation of cities' digital infrastructure and big data centers.
Wuxi is also the host of the summit. The two-day event attracted government officials, industrial insiders, and experts from 16 provinces and municipalities around the country, who discusses the development of the digital economy and the construction of new-type smart cities.
Mou Zongqing, secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of CCID, said that the construction of a new-type smart city is a complex project that requires the joint efforts of all parties.
Mou expressed hope that the summit would help further strengthen the foundation of China's urban digital governance transformation, accelerate the construction of new-type smart cities, and accelerate the widespread application of digital technologies, and gather advantages of all parties to achieve win-win results.
Wuxi Big Data Co, along with the Wuxi Institute of Digital Economy, was launched at the summit.
Wuxi Big Data Co is supported by the Wuxi Internet of Things Innovation Promotion Center and will promote the integration and application of new-generation information technologies such as big data and IoT in the industrial field.
The 2021 Jiangsu Big Data Development and Application Competition (Hualu Cup) kicked off during the summit as well.
