Agreements on a total of 60 projects, worth over 61.8 billion yuan ($9.53 billion), were signed at an investment-promotion summit of Wuxi's Huishan district on July 18.
They included 28 advanced manufacturing projects, 21 modern services projects, and 11 talent-related projects.
Among them, Wuxi Huishan State-owned Investment Holding Group and Poly Culture Group inked a deal to build Yangxi Poly Culture City, with a total investment of 30 billion yuan.
Gu Yan, head of Matrass C-Graphene Industry Group and also a member of the expert group hired by the Graphene Industry Center of Huishan Development Zone, said that Huishan district owns the best graphene industrial cluster in China during the event.
Matrass C-Graphene Industry Group will invest 600 million yuan to set up a graphene equipment industry research institute and a headquarters in the district's Graphene Industry Center. The company will also cooperate with the Carbon Materials Research Institute of Central South University to develop a high-purity graphene purification process.
Huishan district is also famous for its modern agriculture industry, especially in the summer when the honey peaches are ripe in Yangshan town.
Yangshan town currently plants over 2,333 hectares of honey peaches. With an annual output of 50,000 tons, the honey peaches are valued at 630 million yuan each year. Yangshan town has become the main peach producing area with the largest concentration of contiguous planting areas in southern Jiangsu and the highest economic benefit in the country.
