Wuxi's largest multi-story parking garage project is under construction in Yangming sub-district, Liangxi district, aiming to meet the demand for parking spaces in the surrounding area.
The multi-level parking garage will utilize a vertical lift mechanical system to transport cars to and from parking spaces in a way that maximizes the space in a multi-level parking garage.
It can maximize the number of parking spaces by providing a parking area for 208 cars where traditionally there would be space for about 30 vehicles.
The 450-square-meter building is 31 meters high with seven floors. However, it will only take 40 seconds to park and pick up vehicles on average, according to officials. A total of eight entrances and exits will open during peak hours to shorten waiting times.
Wuxi will basically achieve a balanced supply of parking spaces by the end of this year, according to local officials in August.
In 2021, 20,000 parking spaces will be added in the city. A total of 60 shared parking lots will start operation at different times. The city will also complete the collection of information of more than 200,000 dynamic parking spaces on Wuxi's smart parking platform, which was also launched.
The platform enables drivers to find available surrounding parking spaces with its smart management system, as well as allows users to pay parking fees online.
