Representative agricultural products in Jiangyin and Wuxi's Huishan district will be promoted to cities under the provincial "internet + agriculture" project, according to a list recently released by the Jiangsu provincial department of agriculture and rural areas.
The provincial department has chosen 10 pilot counties that it will support for three years, aiming to open markets for their agricultural products.
Huangtu town in Jiangyin, a county-level city under Wuxi's jurisdiction, has been known for its grape industry for years, with various varieties of grapes like Jufeng, Zuijinxiang, and Meirenzhi planted there.
The local government of Huangtu town has been supporting farmers through policies, funds, and land, as well as by building platforms for technical services, agricultural supplies, and market sales of grapes since 2001.
Huangtu grapes have passed the certification to be designated as pollution-free food in Jiangsu province and China Green Food thanks to their improved quality and its agricultural industrial chain.
