A total of 12 key projects, with a total investment of 8.87 billion yuan ($1.37 billion), started construction in Xishan district of Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province on Sept 16.
In addition, construction on 12 other key projects, worth 10.66 billion yuan, finished in Xishan district.
The 24 projects cover various advanced manufacturing fields, such as major innovation carriers, research and development platforms, integrated circuits, biomedicine and medical equipment, new materials, electric vehicles, as well as high-end equipment.
Among them, 20 projects in the manufacturing sector attracted a total investment of 13.98 billion yuan to Xishan district. Xiaodao Ebike, an electric-vehicle producer, will build its new headquarters in the district.

The projects' launch and completion ceremony was held on the site of the first phase of Yingyue Lake Digital Valley.
With a total investment of 500 million yuan, Yingyue Lake Digital Valley will be co-built by Xidong New City Commerce Area and China Electronics Corporation to serve as a high-tech industrial park.
The first phase of Yingyue Lake Digital Valley will cover about 4 hectares, with a construction area of 92,000 square meters.
After completion, it will work on industries like integrated circuits and semiconductors, information, artificial intelligence, as well as technological services. It will also cultivate IC-design related enterprises, as well as attract semiconductor materials and equipment enterprises' headquarters, aiming to build a complete industrial ecosystem.
The annual sales of the first phase of the Yingyue Lake Digital Valley is expected to exceed 600 million yuan after reaching full operation.
