Wuxi, a city in East China's Jiangsu province, has been using digital means to improve safety related to gas, fire and community in recent years.
In terms of gas safety, local authorities have launched the Wuxi smart gas supervision platform, which is capable of monitoring the concentration of combustible gas, issuing alerts for leakage, and sending early warnings.

To date, the platform has been connected to nearly 20,000 combustible gas alarms in local dining places and dealt with 151 potential gas leakage incidents.
To ensure the safety of local residents, Youdu Community, for example, has built a control room supported by internet of things, big data, and AI technologies to monitor the community, manage vehicles, and dispatch staff during emergencies.
To prevent fires, the Huishan Ancient Town scenic area has introduced a 5G-enabled safety monitor system and set up a 20-member emergency team for firefighting.
