A total of 13 Wuxi-based enterprises were included in the list of top 500 Chinese enterprises, which was jointly released by the China Enterprise Confederation and the China Enterprise Directors Association on Sept 25.
In addition, 27 Wuxi-based enterprises made the top 500 Chinese manufacturing enterprises list and 18 Wuxi-based enterprises made the top 500 service enterprises list respectively.
Heilan Group, Wuxi Industry Development Group, Sanfangxiang Group, Hodo Group, and Envision Group were included in the list of top 500 Chinese enterprises.
In addition to the 13 Wuxi-based enterprises that made the top 500 Chinese enterprises list, the 14 other Wuxi-based enterprises that made the top 500 Chinese manufacturing enterprises list also included Jiangrun Copper, Daming Metal Products Co, and JCET Group.
The shortlisted companies cover a wide range of industries, including traditional industries like clothing, metallurgy, and machinery, as well as high-tech industries like integrated circuits and new energy.
The list of the top 500 Chinese enterprises for 2021 showed improved business performance and better industrial structure.
The revenue threshold of the top 500 Chinese enterprises increased by 3.28 billion yuan ($507.96 million) from a year ago to 39.24 billion yuan, the data showed.
The combined operating revenues of the top 500 companies reached 89.83 trillion yuan in 2020, up 4.43 percent compared to that in the previous year, according to the officials.
The firms generated 4.07 trillion yuan in total profits, up 4.59 percent compared to that of the companies on the 2020 list of the top 500 Chinese enterprises.
