Eleven members have been elected to the standing committee of the 14th municipal committee of the Communist Party of China in Wuxi, Jiangsu province on Sept 27, the last day of the city's 14th Wuxi Municipal Congress of the Communist Party of China.
Du Xiaogang was elected as Wuxi's Party secretary. Zhao Jianjun and Zhu Aixun were selected as the deputy Party secretary of Wuxi.
Other members of the new standing committee are Bai Changling, Zhou Fengqin, Wang Zuocai, Lu Zhijian, Jiang Min, Xu Feng, Zhou Changqing, and Li Qiufeng.
Du delivered a speech on behalf of the new standing committee of the Wuxi municipal Party committee.
Du said that as this year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the new standing committee will become better role models for the city's Party members and officials, as well as bring more benefits and improve the livelihoods of citizens.
The four-day 14th Wuxi Municipal Congress of the Communist Party of China concluded on the day as well. A total of 540 Party members attending the local Party congress completed the agenda during the third plenary meeting.
Du said that all the participants not only ensured the smooth completion of the congress’ tasks, but also provided many insights for the development and socialist modernization of Wuxi during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, which fully demonstrated the delegates’ high sense of political responsibility and mission.
