Wuxi hosted an exchange and cooperation fair to promote cooperation in digital economy development with Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, on Oct 8.
A total of 81 deals, worth 10.2 billion yuan ($1.58 billion), were signed during the fair. The deals included building industrial bases, digital platforms, and innovation centers, with a focus on the internet of things, big data, artificial intelligence, as well as integrated circuits.
Among the new deals, 27 projects attracted investment of 100 million yuan and 13 attracted over 300 million yuan of investment. The total amount increased by 80 percent compared to deals signed during last year's event.
During the fair, Wuxi Mayor Zhao Jianjun said that the city is striving to become a national demonstration city for digital economy development. Zhao added that universities, scientific institutes, and enterprises in Hangzhou are welcomed to develop related projects in Wuxi.
Zhao also urged that more cooperation be carried out between Wuxi and Hangzhou to accelerate the digitalization of economy, life services, and governance in both cities.
The Yangtze River Delta Digital Economy Cooperation Proposal was launched at the fair. The 2021 Jiangsu-Zhejiang AI and Big Data Application Competition also took place.
