Cooperation between Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was strengthened at an investment cooperation conference in Shenzhen on Oct 14.
A total of 140 projects worth 125.4 billion yuan ($19.49 billion) in investments were signed at the conference between Wuxi and enterprises, financial institutions, and research and development centers in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The newly signed projects cover various key industries such as new-generation information technology, biomedicine, integrated circuits, high-end equipment, new energy and new materials, technology and finance.
The "Yangtze River Delta-Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Industrial Innovation Cooperation (Wuxi) Pilot Zone" was also launched at the investment cooperation conference.
The area will leverage the advantages of both areas to pilot the integrated development of industrial chains and innovation chains with the aim of building a world-class industrial cluster and promoting the coordinated and high-quality development of the regional economy.
In addition, the "Wuxi-Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Economic and Technological Liaison Office" will give full play to the functions of information collection, city publicity, investment promotion, business promotion, and technological cooperation to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The area is expected to become a new platform for exchanges and foreign cooperation for Wuxi's economy and trade.
During the conference, favorable measures that help young talents from Hong Kong and Macao work and start businesses in Wuxi were released.
The investment cooperation conference was held both online and offline and was attended by representatives from enterprises, business associations and innovation institutions in Guangdong province, Hong Kong and Macao.
