The Taihu Talent Summit 2021 was held from Oct 18-20 in the city of Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province.
This is the fifth time Wuxi has held such a talent summit since 2017. As a significant channel for domestic and foreign talent to familiarize themselves with the city and an important platform for encouraging top entrepreneurs to start new businesses in Wuxi, the summit has led to more than 50 academicians launching scientific and engineering programs in the city.
The summit consisted of one opening ceremony on Oct 19 and more than 20 forums and was attended by leaders from 50 renowned universities and 100 top scholars, including Ren Zeping, a famous economist in China, and Wu Zhiqiang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

As a vibrant city in the Yangtze River Delta region, Wuxi ranks third in regional GDP in Jiangsu province, while its per-capita GDP is among the highest in entire China. In 2020, the city brought in nearly 100,000 high-end personnel.
Wuxi is currently home to 148,000 high-end personnel, 17,100 overseas returnees, and 451,000 highly skilled talents, and 17 Noble Prize winners are working to ensure the city's future by making it a better place to work and live.
At a round table conference, outstanding entrepreneurs were invited to share their insights into how to attract talent, including Zhou Haijiang, president of the board of directors of HOdo Group Co, and Guo Sheng, CEO of Zhilian Recruitment, one of China's biggest recruitment websites.
