A total of 1,260 enterprises from Wuxi, Jiangsu province are seeking to attract and explore business opportunities at the ongoing fourth China International Import Expo, which is running from Nov 5 to 10 in Shanghai.
The Wuxi trading group has a particular focus on the manufacturing industry, such as technical equipment, medical equipment, integrated circuits, and digital industries. The exhibition areas of service trade, automobiles, consumer goods, as well as food and agricultural products also have drawn great attention.
Only two days after the official start of CIIE, more than 100 Wuxi enterprises have signed contracts with an intended turnover of $630 million, according to the local commerce bureau.
Members from the Wuxi trading group said that through CIIE, they would like to expand the import channels of various products, technologies, and services, as well as look for opportunities and sign agreements for future exports.
With its regional headquarters in Wuxi, AstraZeneca is showcasing the achievements it has made in the past 28 years in China at an exhibition area that spans 1,100 square meters, covering multiple aspects like R&D innovation, community-level healthcare, as well as its digital health ecosystem.
The Wuxi International Life Science Innovation Campus, co-constructed by AstraZeneca and the Wuxi government, has signed various deals with biomedical enterprises that would like to build branches there.

Wuxi Huishan Clay Figurine Factory, which produces excellent Huishan clay figurines works, made its CIIE debut, telling the story of its formation, as well as its efforts to inherit and make innovations in the city's national intangible cultural heritage item.
Initiated in 2018, the CIIE is the world's first dedicated import exhibition. The intended turnover of its previous three editions reached about $201.6 billion. This year, the total exhibition area of CIIE has been expanded to 366,000 square meters, with nearly 3,000 businesses from 127 countries and regions attending the event.
