Agreements on 75 key agricultural projects, worth 25.68 billion yuan ($4.03 billion), were signed in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province on Nov 8.
Among them, 44 projects attracted over 100 million yuan in investment, which were mostly related to the integration of primary, secondary, and tertiary industries, as well as the improvement of agricultural products processing.
Gu Shan, head of the Xiaonanwan agricultural, cultural, and tourism complex project, said that the 1-billion-yuan project will transform the 60-hectare farmland in Helyu Community, Mashan sub-district of Binhu district into an ecological agricultural park equipped with high-end facilities, internet of things technology, as well as greenhouses.
The digital vegetable base project, which has an investment of 350 million yuan, in Xishan district will include the construction of a multi-span smart greenhouse on a 40-hectare vegetable farm. After being put into operation, IoT facilities in the smart greenhouse will monitor the temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, and light of planted vegetables, as well as realize automatic seeding transplanting and harvesting.
The vegetables can also be kept fresh for 37 days after being picked without producing harmful substances like nitrite. The total output value of the smart greenhouse project is expected to be increased by more than 300 million yuan.
Jiangyin's functional probiotic freeze-dried powder research and development and production base project, which attracted 1.1 billion yuan in investment, will work to strengthen the research and productivity of probiotic freeze-dried powder extracted from fruits and vegetables, which can help hundreds of farmers broaden their sales channels for agricultural products.
