A total of 222 companies from the Wuxi trading group inked 317 deals with exhibitors from 38 countries and regions during the fourth China International Import Expo from Nov 5 to 10 in Shanghai.
The deals covered various fields, such as technical equipment, consumer goods, automobiles, food and agricultural products, and medical equipment, according to the Wuxi trading group made up of 1,260 local enterprises.
Yang Xiangtong of Wuxi Opto Automation Technologies Co said that the CIIE is a strong exchange platform, showcasing advanced international achievements and providing convenience for import and export enterprises.
This is the third time the company has attended the CIIE, providing opportunities for them to visit and learn about the latest motor products and technologies, added Yang.
Official data shows that 48.39 percent of signed deals were related to the technical equipment industry, especially high-end intelligent equipment.
Yu Huanchun, chairman of Jinqiao International Food Town, said the company signed a $30-million intended contract with Shanghai Bailian Group at the fourth CIIE, aiming to bring more high-quality overseas food to residents of Wuxi,
Wuxi's Huishan clay figurines also attracted many buyers at the event. As a Wuxi cultural icon, the Huishan clay figurine will cooperate with many cultural creative companies in the inheritance and promotion of the national intangible cultural heritage item.
The fourth CIIE has attracted nearly 3,000 businesses from 127 countries and regions. A total of 281 Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders attended this year's exhibition, with 40 joining the CIIE for the first time and another 120 taking part in the exhibition for the fourth consecutive year.
