Wuxi signed a strategic cooperation agreement with JD Group, one of China's leading e-commerce firms, on Nov 16.
According to the deal, both sides will strengthen cooperation in developing modern smart industrial parks, regional air cargo hubs, new-type smart cities, internet plus medical healthcare, cross-border trade, modern agricultural industrial parks, and cultural tourism.
They will mainly work to promote e-commerce and modern logistics in Wuxi based on JD's technical advantages in cloud computing, as well as its latest manufacturing and logistics technologies.
Wuxi Party Secretary Du Xiaogang attended the signing ceremony. Du said that JD Group is not only a world-class e-commerce platform, but also works in many fields, such as digital technology, health, and cloud computing. It is a new type of entity enterprise that possesses the traits and attributes of entity enterprises, as well as possesses digital technology and capabilities.
With the support of JD Group, Wuxi will focus on building a modern industrial system, a high-level smart city, as well as a modern international and regional central city, said Du.
Xu Lei, CEO of JD Group, said that the company will increase its investment and presence in the city to share development opportunities with each other.
