A deal signing ceremony for the joint construction of the Yangtze River Delta Solar Photovoltaic Technology Innovation Center was held in Jiangyin, a county-level city of Wuxi, on Nov 28.
According to the deal, the innovation center will be jointly built by the Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute and Jiangyin to promote the high-quality development and innovation of solar photovoltaic technology.
The center plans to spend five years building world-class public platforms for technology research and development, testing and certification, calculation design, simulation, big data, as well as small- and pilot-scale testing.
In the future, the center will gather more than 1,000 scientific research, technical, and management talents, of which about 10 top solar photovoltaic scientists at home and abroad will lead the establishment of related R&D platforms, about 50 outstanding solar energy research experts will work as R&D project leaders, as well as 100 outstanding young solar photovoltaic technology experts will work as the technological backbone of the laboratory.
The center will also train over 300 graduate students and post-doctoral students at top universities in the solar photovoltaic field. It will aim to make breakthroughs on core basic scientific issues and key common technologies in the solar energy field, support the long-term development of China's renewable energy and solar photovoltaic industry, as well as lead the development of solar energy science and technology in China.
