A total of 11 Wuxi-based enterprises were included in the second batch of key trade in services enterprises in Jiangsu province, according to the local commerce bureau on Nov 25.
In addition, Wuxi Taihu National Tourism Resort, as well as Xishan Economic and Technological Development Zone were listed in the second batch of provincial services trade industrial bases in the fields of biomedicine and industrial design.
Statistics from the local commerce bureau show that in the first half of this year, the city's total trade in services reached $3.08 billion, a year-on-year increase of 10.6 percent.
Base FX, one of the 11 awarded enterprises, has seen many of its domestic and overseas film and television works win prestigious prizes. The company has expanded in the upstream and downstream of the industry, while also undertaking science and technology projects from the central and provincial governments.
In the first half of this year, the company's offshore business revenue reached $1.16 million.
Yadea Group, also an awarded enterprise based in Xishan Economic and Technological Development Zone, invested 339 million yuan ($53.19 million) on research and development from January to July this year, a year-on-year increase of 63.2 percent.
Xishan Economic and Technological Development Zone has also been recognized as the largest R&D, industrial design, as well as production base of electric vehicles in China.
The biomedicine service trade base of Wuxi Taihu National Tourism Resort, which was shortlisted this time, is the core development area of Wuxi's life science and health industry.
Relying on Wuxi Biologics' CRO service platform to focus on building the service side, the resort further increased the proportion of R&D and gathered 90 percent of Wuxi's new drug R&D capabilities. In 2020, the export of biomedical services in the resort was $382 million.
