Wuxi residents enjoyed a cultural boom at the 11th China (Wuxi) International Cultural and Art Industries Fair that kicked off on Dec 10 and ran for three days.
This year's event attracted over 1.2 million visitors, exhibitors and buyers. Deals worth over 3.8 billion yuan ($597.22 million) were signed during the event.
Themed around innovative cultural tourism consumption, this year's fair featured two major exhibitions: The First "Ni Yunlin" National Art Exhibition and City with a Smile cultural tourism exhibitions.
The First "Ni Yunlin" National Art Exhibition was sponsored by the local government of Wuxi, the China Artists Association and the Jiangsu Federation of Literary and Art Circles. The art exhibition displayed 201 Chinese paintings and oil paintings, which were selected from 5,958 entries.

The City with a Smile cultural tourism exhibitions were the main event, featuring local travel routes, various cultural tourism products, local specialties, and various intangible cultural heritage items.
Wuxi's famous tourist attractions, including Nanchan Temple, Chong'an Temple, Qingming Bridge Historic and Cultural Block and Nianhuawan scenic area, introduced their special tourism products and performances at the event.
The fair, aiming to promote the development of local culture and tourism, is free to anyone interested in the culture and art of Wuxi.
