The first batch of 10 "worth visiting places on the doorstep" in Wuxi were recently introduced by the local bureau of culture, radio, television and tourism.
The 10 places include the Wuxi Opera Cultural Center, Wanxin Community Branch of Wuxi Municipal Library, Jiangyin Xinqiao Town Public Culture Space, Around Yangshandang Walking Path, Yangming Cultural Innovation Library, Yunlin Ecological Sports Park, Xizhang Silkworm Exhibiton Hall, Grand Canal Bund, Zhonghuaqiao Park, and Shangxian River Walking Path.
Officials have said that Wuxi, with its precious history and culture, should enrich the daily lives of residents and tourists by providing new urban cultural spaces and parks.
The Wuxi Opera Cultural Center, located in Dacheng Lane in the city's downtown, reopened to the public recently after being restored. People can watch the traditional drama while drinking a cup of tea and can buy unique and innovative cultural products.
Cultural places such as the Wanxin Community Branch of the Wuxi Municipal Library, Jiangyin Xinqiao Town Public Culture Space and Yangming Cultural Innovation Library can provide students and bibliophiles with comfortable areas for learning and reading in their spare time.
The Xizhang Silkworm Exhibiton Hall records the history of local sericulture and preserves traditional silkworm-raising techniques.
In addition, the recommended walking paths in the city are ideal for those looking to take in the beautiful views and natural scenery.
