Construction started on the third phase of the Wuxi National Digital Film Industrial Park, also known as Wuxi Studios, on Jan 11.
With a total investment of 2 billion yuan ($314.36 million), the new project will mainly include multi-functional and complex formats related of film and television such a cultural avenue, location shooting area, enterprise headquarters, apartments, and a financial valley. The project is expected to meet the needs of film and television content creation and cultural tourism.
As an important film town in China, Wuxi has an abundance of resources for the creation of a national-level film industry innovation experimental zone.
During the National People's Congress in 2020, Du Xiaogang, Party secretary of Wuxi, suggested offering State support to help Wuxi create an innovative experimental zone for the Chinese film industry.
In addition, the Wuxi Yuanyuzhou Innovation Industrial Park and Wuxi Digital Culture Industrial Park, two major science and technology parks supporting the development of the Wuxi National Digital Film Industrial Park, were launched at the ceremony.

The Wuxi National Digital Film Industrial Park has been developing into a filming and post-production center for a new generation of entertainment. Its 12,000-square-meter studio workroom – the largest in Asia – has helped attract high-caliber media companies to this small corner of East China.
