Construction on the second phase of the battery manufacturing center of battery technology company Envision AESC started in the Jiangyin Lingang Economic Development Zone on Feb 7.
With a total of 10 billion yuan in investment, the project will produce the latest generation of high-quality, high-safety, zero-carbon battery products with a planned production capacity of over 15GWh. It is expected to be completed and put into production in 2023.
The production center will make use of the innovative technologies of Envision Group in the field of renewable energy and intelligent internet of things, and make use of wind turbines, photovoltaics, and energy storage to form an end-to-end zero-carbon solution and build a zero-carbon industrial park with a full green energy supply.
The new production base will give the company a unique presence in all major global automotive markets, said Zhang Lei, CEO of Envision Group.
