Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province has been ramping up efforts to ensure the abundant supply of agricultural products amid the COVID-19 outbreak in the city.
As of March 31, food delivery platforms in the city, including Hema Fresh, JD, and Dingdong Maicai, were capable of supplying a combined 3 million metric tons of vegetables per day.
These platforms have also been making efforts to increase their supply and allocate more deliverymen to Wuxi, according to the local municipal bureau of commerce.
On March 31, Dingdong Maicai received more than 50,000 orders, most of which were delivered to contactless distribution spots at residential communities.

From March 25 to April 1, the Wuxi municipal bureau of agriculture and rural affairs managed to transport 415 tons of vegetable from Taixing, Xuzhou, and Shandong province to the city.
In addition, the supply of pork, the most consumed meat in China, has also been largely unaffected in Wuxi.
As of 1 am on March 31, Wuxi reported five positive nucleic acid test results and two positive antigen test results. Public transport in the city has since been suspended and residents have been instructed to stay at home and wait for nucleic acid tests to be conducted at their residential communities.
