The roadside landscapes in downtown Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, have become increasingly beautiful after years of effort, local media reported on April 11.
Wudu Road has been beautified with cherry blossoms and Yulan magnolia flowers in early spring, while both sides of Taihu Road are filled with flowering crape myrtle in the summer.
Guanshan Road offers passersby scenes of flowers all year round, Hefeng Road highlights sports and athletics, and Xinzhou and Xixing roads feature elements of Jiangnan culture.

This year, Wuxi will finish revamping landscapes along more than 20 main roads and announce the 10 roads with the most distinctive landscapes, according to the bureau of parks and forestry.
"We will plant different vegetation along different roads with different planting techniques to create a diverse environment," said an official from the bureau.
In accordance with the standards for national ecological cities and garden cities, Wuxi will also seek to integrate the roadside landscapes into local life by building sports facilities and benches on greenbelts along the road.
The official noted that the city will transform more green buffer area into recreational area and turn roads into part of the city's scenery.
