Zhou Chunsong, a native of Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province, was recently selected as a member of the Germany-based Europasche Akademieder Naturwissenschaften.
Located in Hanover, the center of Germany's auto, mechanical, and electronic industries, the Europasche Akademieder Naturwissenschaften was set up by scientists from European countries and is highly influential on the continent.
Zhou is an expert in the treatment of wastewater and environmental pollutants and is dedicated to the recycling of industrial waste, saving energy, reducing emissions, and the research and development of wastewater treatment technology.

The companies established by Zhou – the Wuxi-based Yixing International Environmental Protection City Development Co Ltd and the Guizhou-based Fuquan Environmental Protection City Development Co Ltd – are pioneers in striking a balance between environmental protection and chemical engineering.
Zhou now works as a professor of the School of Chemical Engineering at the Zhejiang University of Technology and is serving as dean of the university's Gao Cheng Institute.
