Wuxi recently invested in two industrial projects in Aheqi county, Kizilsu Kirghiz autonomous prefecture in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, local media reported on May 6.
Wuxi-based Guofeng Automobile Industry Co Ltd is expected to invest about 10 million yuan ($1.48 million) in setting up a subsidiary in Aheqi, which will manufacture 50,000 electromobiles and generate over 100 million yuan in output per year, as well as offer over 100 jobs.

Wuxi plans to invest 10 million yuan renovating the falcon field in the county. The first phase will cost 5 million yuan and involves leveling existing race courses, repairing the stable and grandstand, establishing a grandstand for viewing falcons, and afforesting 8,000 square meters of land.
Wuxi and Aheqi county established a pairing-assistance relationship in 2007. Located in the valley of Tianshan Mountains, Aheqi has relatively poor natural, transportation and economic foundations and has difficulty attracting investment.
Since it began a new round of assisting Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region in 2020, Jiangsu has established two industrial parks in Artux, a city of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region with better transportation infrastructure, with their respective focus on the economic development of Aheqi and Wuqia counties.
