The China-Europe freight train loaded with washing machines, cloth dryers, and other home appliance made by Wuxi-based Little Swan departed from the city on June 7 for Moscow, Russia.
That same day, the Wuxi International Freight Train Co Ltd, operator of the city's freight trains, inked strategic cooperation agreements with six foreign trade companies, including Suntech Power, Maxus, and Rigid Machinery.

Since trial operations started in late March, Wuxi's freight trains have received orders equivalent to more than 520 twenty-foot equivalent units.
More than 90 percent of foreign trade companies in Wuxi are expected to turn to rail transport to deliver their products to countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative following the introduction of the China-Europe trains, according to local authorities.

In the future, more freight trains will be launched in Wuxi, and at least two freight trains will depart the city for Russia and Germany, respectively, every month starting in the second half of this year.
In addition, Wuxi will work to launch China-Asia freight trains to Tashkent, Uzbekistan and Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan, as well as freight trains to ASEAN countries such as Vietnam and Laos.
