Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province has taken measures to stabilize society and the economy since a new round of Covid-19 broke out in the city on June 28.
The city set up a team to stabilize the industrial and supply chains in key sectors. It has also called for cooperation among multiple government departments to solve enterprises' practical difficulties related to human resources and logistics caused by pandemic prevention and control policies.
As a city with a competitive manufacturing industry, Wuxi is currently home to more than 80,000 industrial businesses, most of which are involved in new energy and high-end equipment manufacturing.

As of July 9, the team has served over 720 enterprises and solved 220 problems for 167 enterprises.
For example, more than 1,000 staff members at Wuxi Sharp Electronic Components Co Ltd could not travel between their homes and workplace due to the suspension of commuting buses due to the pandemic. With help from the team, the buses finally resumed.
The team also helped Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment Co transport its 150,000 face masks from the Shuofang Logistics Industrial Park, which has been in lockdown due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

In some of the city's areas severely hit by the pandemic, some enterprises have implemented closed-loop production to ensure a safe working environment.
The supply of daily necessities in Wuxi has also been guaranteed, and local suppliers and those from other cities have been mobilized to increase their supply to Wuxi.
In addition, online grocery platforms in the city have seen a surge in orders. The storehouses of Dingdong Maicai, for example, have been operating all day long to handle the large volume of orders.
