A China-Europe freight train recently departed Wuxi and traveled to Russia via Lianyungang city, marking the official opening of a new transport channel to Russia.

The freight train was loaded with the roller washing machines manufactured by well-known Wuxi home appliance company Little Swan.
The opening of the transport channel also marks a new achievement in the pairing assistance between Wuxi and Lianyungang and will help with the export of Jiangsu-made products to other countries.
On March 30, the first China-Europe freight train departed Wuxi. On April 28 and May 7, the Wuxi-Suzhou-St Petersburg and Wuxi-Xuzhou-Moscow freight trains started trial operations respectively.
To date, 400 twenty-foot equivalent units have been delivered from Wuxi to European countries.
