Jiangsu Lexiance Partners opened a branch in Gyirong county, Southwest China's Tibet autonomous region, on August 2, making it the first law firm in the county.
The establishment of the law firm helped a Wuxi native achieve his dream of helping Tibet.
Twenty-four-year-old Wu Nan applied to work in Tibet the minute he received his qualification certificate. He became interested in Tibet while in university.
Wu said that there was a student club at his university that offered legal assistance to underdeveloped areas of China and he was impressed by the experiences of senior schoolmates in Tibet, Qinghai, and Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
Back then, Wu was not qualified for the event, and by the time he became qualified, the club had been disbanded. Since then, he has been committed to offering volunteer services in underdeveloped areas.
After submitting his application, Wu carried out research on legal disputes in Gyirong and familiarized himself with local customs in a bid to get working as soon as possible.
In addition, Wu plans to travel to other areas of the Tibet autonomous region to listen to the stories of local residents and learn what else he can do for them. He also looks forward to experiencing different customs and practices in the region.
