The 18th China International Photographic Art Exhibition kicked off on Aug 3 at the Xuelang Town Exhibition Center in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province. The exhibition features nearly 300 works from home and abroad and four Wuxi photographers' work are among themPhotos depicting Wuxi's social and economic development are on display. The exhibition will last until Aug 7.
The exhibition is co-host by China Photographers Association, Jiangsu Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles and Wuxi Municipal People's Government. First held in 1981, the exhibition is seen as one of the association's important branding activities.
This year's exhibition has three main categories: "Me and You" theme unit, "Non-themed Documentary" unit and "Non-themed art" unit. The diverse and colorful works, including works on Brazil's biome and contemporary Iran,condense artists' thinking on the times, people and life. More creative expressions in photographs are applied.

Many citizens and photography enthusiasts came to watch and experience this unique artistic atmosphere, taking photos and exchanging opinions in front of the works.

In addition, Wuxi elements are also reflected in the exhibition. Works depicting Wuxi's beautiful natural scenery, urban and rural construction, ecological development and happy city life are also on display, attracting lots of visitors.

Li Qiufeng, member of the Standing Committee of Wuxi Municipal Party Committee and director of the city's Publicity Department, said that "Wuxi has boasted its cultural brilliance and Wuxi people are very confident about their culture. Choosing Wuxi as the host city this time, the exhibition will greatly enhance Wuxi’s international image and reputation".
