More than 10 expats in East China's Jiangsu province visited Yixing, a county-level city in Wuxi, from Aug 18 to 19 to enjoy the city's profound culture and scenic views as part of the Discover Jiangsu event.
Australian Ravichandar whose Chinese name is Le Wei shared his feelings on living in Jiangsu at the launch ceremony of the event and said that he was amazed to learn that Yixing is renowned for its 1,000-year history of making pottery.

He added that it was an honor to have the opportunity to tour the city.
After the launch ceremony, the expats visited the Yixing Museum to get a further understanding of Yixing's culture and history, as well as the development of pottery making.
They also toured Shushan Ancient Street, the birthplace of purple clay culture in Yixing, and Longchi Mountain Bike Park.

Their trip concluded at the Liyong Purple Clay Museum, which houses classic purple clay pottery dating back to the origin of the art, making it the largest professional purple clay museum in China.

Sponsored by the Information Office of the Jiangsu Provincial Government, Discover Jiangsu is aimed at promoting Jiangsu via expats living and working in the province by inviting them to visit different places in Jiangsu.
