Zhao Jianjun, mayor of Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province, met with Su Hua, president of Greater China Region, Infineon Technologies AG, on Aug 30.
After giving a brief introduction to Wuxi's economic and social development, Zhao said that due to the concerted efforts of enterprises, including Infineon, the integrated circuit industry has become the most competitive and highest-potential industry in Wuxi.
The city sees developing IC industry as its main task and boasts broad cooperation prospects, added Zhao.
He also expressed hope that Infineon will establish functional institutions, including a regional distribution center, in Wuxi to further increase the importance of the city in Infineon's industrial chain and introduce more relevant enterprises to Wuxi.
The mayor promised to offer the most efficient services to support the development and expansion of Infineon in Wuxi.
Su thanked Wuxi authorities for their long-term support for Infineon and said that the IC industry in Wuxi has seen strong development momentum in recent years.
Local authorities' efficient COVID-19 prevention and control efforts and administrative services have further solidified our confidence to invest more in Wuxi, noted Su.
He added that Infineon will continue deepening its practical cooperation with Wuxi, promote industrial upgrading and technological innovation, and produce more customized products for local clients.
Founded in 1999, Germany-based Infineon Technologies AG is one of the 10 largest semiconductor manufacturers worldwide and has maintained close cooperation with Wuxi in recent years.
