Over the past 10 years, "academician-driven development" has given vigorous impetus to Huishan's high-quality development.
To date, Huishan has cooperated with 53 Chinese and foreign academicians who helped the district build 10 industrial clusters and attract over 2,000 high-caliber professionals.
"It is the academician-driven development that ensures Huishan has the capacity to grow into a national intelligent manufacturing district and become a hub of scientific innovation in East China," said the authorities.

Huishan also values the role of capital markets in promoting its substantial economy. Currently, the district is home to funds worth over 50 billion yuan and by 2025 the figure is expected to double.
The district has also been promoting rural revitalization over the past decade by helping farmers shake off poverty and improve their living and natural environment.
The numbers of livable villages and provincial and municipal-level featured villages in Huishan ranked first in Wuxi last year.
