A total of 1,205 enterprises in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, have signed up for the 5th China International Import Expo, which is scheduled to take place from Nov 5 to 10 in Shanghai, according to the Wuxi municipal bureau of commerce.
These Wuxi buyers are expected to secure procurement contracts worth more than $700 million during the 5th CIIE.
The event this year will include a business exhibition, a country exhibition, the Hongqiao International Economic Forum, and other supporting activities.
The business exhibition consists of six areas for food and agricultural products, automobile, intelligent industry and information technology, consumer goods, medical equipment and healthcare products, and trade in services.

Wuxi buyers will pay close attention to the intelligent industry and information technology and medical equipment and healthcare products this year.
The two areas have attracted exhibitors such as Samsung, ASML, Caterpillar, AstraZeneca, and GE Healthcare.
In addition to procurement, Wuxi will organize a series of activities involving international cooperation, investment and consumption promotion during the annual event to improve the city's international profile.
The "Participate in Wuxi's International Development" round-table conference will introduce Wuxi to senior managers of transnational corporations and renowned foreign-invested enterprises in an effort to attract more investment.
Wuxi has been arranging for local enterprises to attend the CIIE since its inception in 2018. "This year, we will make full use of the event to participate in international markets and improve the city's opening up," said an official from the Wuxi municipal bureau of commerce.
