The Plum Garden in Wuxi is a popular place to admire plum blossoms, as it boasts 10,000 plum trees in 400 varieties.
The best place to view the blossoms is Tianxintai Platform, as it offers an expansive view in both winter and spring.
There are many oddly-shaped Taihu Lake rocks around the platform. The Xi Xiangyang rock on the south side of the platform, for example, features 81 holes of different sizes and fully displays the characteristics of Taihu Lake rocks – slim, leaky, and crinkly.
The three Taihu Lake rocks in front of the platform are named after the gods in Chinese mythology who represent luck, fortune, and longevity, respectively, due to their resemblance to the deities.
Legend has it that, enchanted by the plum blossoms, the three gods could not bring themselves to leave and decided to settle down there.
