The 2022 Taihu Art Festival was unveiled at the Wuxi Grand Theater in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on Oct 24 with the symphony Ode to the Land performed by the China Philharmonic Orchestra.
Ode to the Land consists of five movements themed on century, civilization, devotion, homesickness, and mountains and rivers. The symphony depicts the beautiful landscape of China and praises the remarkable achievements made by Chinese people and the Communist Party of China over the past 100 years.

The art festival will roll out 100 activities including stage dramas, art exhibitions, and other cultural activities over the next 38 days.
The art performances will include symphonies by the China Philharmonic Orchestra, plays by the Shaanxi People's Art Theater, Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center and China National Opera and Dance Drama Theater, as well as comedies by renowned Chinese comedian Chen Peisi.

Ten years ago, Wuxi became the first sub-venue of the China Shanghai International Arts Festival. Inspired by the festival, Wuxi launched the Taihu Art Festival in 2019, which has become an important platform for showcasing the city's cultural achievements.
The 2022 Taihu Art Festival is sponsored by the Wuxi municipal people's government and was organized by the Publicity Department of the CPC Wuxi Municipal Committee, Wuxi municipal bureau of culture, broadcasting, and tourism, and Wuxi Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
