Wuxi has introduced the first digital gymnasium--Weile Sports Center, which was officially put into operation at the Data Innovation Center of Xuelang town on Oct 28.
The total area of the Weile Sports Center is nearly 10,000 square meters. Motivated gym-goers can choose from indoor badminton courts, a full-scale indoor basketball court, a 24-hour fitness center, or outdoor football and basketball fields scattered in the neighboring Jingui Park and Shangxian River Wetland Park.

Operated by Alibaba Sports, Weile Sports Center introduces much digital equipment. The venue has installed several intelligent security technologies. One device, in particular, is the smart air monitoring system, which improves the efficiency of stadium management.
"A customer can experience digital service throughout the whole fitness process," said Mo Huangxian, a staff of the gymnasium. "The venue's intelligent lighting control also answers the government's call for energy conservation and green development."
In recent years, Wuxi has been accelerating the construction of public sports facilities to establish a 15-minute "sports loop" and a sport-friendly city.
