The 2022 International Conference on Green and Innovation-driven Development in Cities and Towns was held in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on Nov 2.
Titled "Dialogue with the world for green development", the conference was attended by more than 300 participants both in-person and online from 19 countries and regions, including Japan, South Korea, Italy, and Switzerland.
At the opening ceremony, six cities and towns in China and other countries inked exchange and cooperation agreements.

Wang Rongping, vice-chairman of the CPPCC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, saying that urbanization, sustainability and innovation are at the core of Jiangsu's development.
Wuxi, the host city of the conference, boasts an 85.9-percent urbanization rate, close to the figures of developed areas, noted Wang.
He expressed hope that participants will share their experiences and learn from each other so as to explore higher-level green and innovative development in cities and towns around the world.
Du Xiaogang, Party secretary of Wuxi, welcomed more people to visit Wuxi and offer suggestions on Wuxi's development.
Sun Yi, director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, said that the foreign affairs office will take this opportunity to create a favorable environment for Jiangsu's exchanges and cooperation with other countries and carry out practical cooperation with them.
Themed forums on special towns, ecological garden cities, and the integrated development of rural industries were also held during the conference.
