Zhao Jianjun, mayor of Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province, recently met with Jim Cathey, chief commercial officer at US chip company Qualcomm.
Zhao welcomed Cathey and thanked Qualcomm for its long-term support for Wuxi's development.
After briefly introducing Wuxi's economic and social development, Zhao said that Qualcomm is one of the world's most important chip manufacturers and has seen fruitful results in cooperation with Wuxi over the past few years.

He added that Wuxi is accelerating the construction of a modern industrial system and ramping up efforts to develop internet of things and other important industries and is expected to forge close cooperation with leading enterprises such as Qualcomm.
Zhao also expressed hope that Qualcomm will enhance its cooperation with Wuxi in 5G, IoT, and internet of vehicles and bring more projects and related enterprises to the city.
The mayor pledged to create the best business environment and provide the most efficient administrative services and most favorable policies to Qualcomm.
Cathey said that he was impressed by the strong development and favorable business climate of Wuxi and that the continued operation of Qualcomm's base in the city during the COVID-19 outbreak consolidated their confidence in the city.
He noted that Qualcomm will strengthen its cooperation with Wuxi in IoT, extended reality, cloud computing, auto, research, and innovation and help boost the development of local innovative enterprises through industrial funds.
