A series of supporting activities such as summits were held during the event to create opportunities for new energy enterprises to communicate with each other and obtain information on the latest policies by the local government.
At the opening ceremony, the Wuxi municipal government also inked a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Shanghai Electric Power Co Ltd. The latter will invest 10 billion yuan ($1.40 billion) building a hydrogen energy industrial park in Yixing over the next three to five years.
Wuxi will ramp up efforts to implement a three-year action plan to develop a cluster for the new energy industry and build centers for the industry's technological innovation, data asset transaction, and inspection and detection, according to Zhao Jianjun, mayor of Wuxi, who delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.
He also noted that the city hopes to make more contributions to the country's green development.
