I am amazed at the rapid growth of the Wuxi National Hi-tech District, or Xinwu district, in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, over the past three decades, said the general manager of the Wuxi Murata Electronics Co Ltd in an interview.
The general manager set foot in Wuxi for the first time in 2008 and the city did not leave much of an impression.
At that time, it never occurred to him that he would be a long-term employee at Murata in Wuxi, witnessing the company grow from a contemporary factory to a factory with 10,000 employees.

Nine years later, he came back to Wuxi as director of the manufacturing department of Wuxi Murata Electronics Co Ltd.
In 2008 his impression of Xinwu was just the place he passed though on his way from his hotel to the factory, but in 2017 he was impressed by the huge changes in the district where foreign restaurants can now be found everywhere.
"During the company's rapid growth, local authorities would leave us alone, but if we encounter problems, they help us solve them immediately," said the general manager.

For example, in April, a batch of raw materials imported by Wuxi Murata from Japan were held up in another city. Without these materials, the factory will not be able to operate properly.
After learning about the issue, Wuxi authorities took emergency action after a night of discussion and arranged for local freight drivers to transport these materials to Wuxi within two days.
"Our company's sound development would not have been possible without the favorable business environment and efficient services of Xinwu district authorities," the general manager noted.
He summarized his feelings about working in Xinwu with one word: speed. "People believe that Japanese people are efficient, but I want to say that Xinwu is surprisingly fast," he said.
